The Enrollment Show Experience
What's it like being a part of an enrollment show?
Ages 8-16

Discover and explore everything you need to know about participating in one of our enrollment show classes and performance. Enrollment shows are a great way to begin your theatre experience.
Every participant gets a role.
Enrollment show classes give students a taste of the production experience. All enrolled are cast in the junior show production, which is performed twice with minimal sets, costumes, and props.
Audition
The class session kicks off with an audition night so that directors learn the abilities and potential of each student and cast them into the right role. This audition night will be held Monday, August 4, the day before the regular class session. Those registered for Annie Jr. will be able to sign up for an audition slot on the Annie Jr. Callboard. By holding auditions the day before class, this frees up the first class session so kids aren’t sitting through dozens of other auditioners. The first class session will focus on reading lines and giving directors more opportunity to get acquainted with cast before they determine the cast list.
If you are unable to attend auditions on August 4, don’t worry–students will be able to audition on Tuesday, August 5. If you have any questions about this process, drop us a note on our contact form; we’ll be glad to hear from you!
The audition experience helps prepare students for the experience of full production auditions, but also is an important part of the Enrollment Show Artistic Team’s cast process. They want to match students up to roles that will give them challenge and room to grow. Remember that every participant gets a role!Â
Acting, Singing, Choreography
Acting, singing, and choreography are taught weekly. Though an enrollment show requires less parental commitment than a full production, we nevertheless rely on volunteers to help gather costumes and props (mostly from our large existing inventory), create some simple set pieces, and help with backstage, mics, and greenroom for the performance.
Staffed with an Artistic Team and a class administrator.
Each enrollment show is staffed with an Artistic Team that gives instruction in vocals, drama, and dance. These individuals work together to teach your student new skills as they learn their part in the show.
The class administrator will greet you each week at check-in and pick-up. If you have any questions about anything, be sure and ask your class administrator, who is eager to help!
The Callboard
When your student is enrolled, you will be given access to the class callboard. The callboard contains important information for participants and their families. Here you will have all the details you need for success in the class, from the forms and links you need to the updates and specifics for dress rehearsals or other details. Check the callboard regularly; the class administrator will post updates to the callboard throughout the session.
The Class Showcase: a Junior Show Performance
Enrollment shows perform twice at the end of the session. This is a delightful time to see your student on stage as part of the show! Invite your friends and family! Tickets are available online or at the door on the day of the performance. All the performance details will be found at our “Buy Tickets” link.Â
