Rehearsal Parents
Encourage the cast and support directors by providing extra adult assistants to rehearsal times.

The Impact of Rehearsal Parents
Rehearsal parents provide a tremendous service to the Artistic Team, helping ensure that rehearsals go smoothly, that time isn’t wasted, and that kids with downtime stay quiet and out of the way. Cast members get to know rehearsal parents and volunteers have an opportunity to get to know the cast, make connections, and impact kids through their cheerful and gentle encouragement.Â
Serving on the Rehearsal Parent Committee

Preshow Rehearsal Parent Committee
Parent volunteers assigned to the Rehearsal Parent Committee attend rehearsals according to the schedule set up by their committee chair. When serving as a Rehearsal Parent, volunteers work with the directors and cast members to keep order and safety and to oversee cast members who are not actively rehearsing. These volunteers also accompany directors who are working with individual cast members so that directorial staff and a cast member are not alone. Rehearsal parents assist in tidying up the rehearsal space at the close of rehearsal.Â
Rehearsal Parent Committee volunteers enjoy working with large groups of kids. They have opportunity to be encouraging to cast members, but should also be prepared to offer supervision and reminders to abide by rehearsal etiquette and guidelines. These volunteers get to know cast members by name as they often assist the costume volunteers in bringing cast members to their costume fittings.
