Hailey Smith

Choreographer

Hailey Smith is overjoyed to be choreographing for CPT’s upcoming production of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn. She began dancing at the age of six, starting her dance training in ballet through Rogers Ballet at Friends University. Hailey later developed a deep love for musical theatre, performing with organizations such as CYT and Music Theatre Wichita and continued to be involved in musicals throughout her college years. Her favorite role across the years was Judy in White Christmas with CYT. Her experience in CYT (now CPT)—and gratitude for how its teachers and directors helped her grow—makes this opportunity to invest in CPT students especially meaningful and exciting.

Since 2016, Hailey has been teaching dance at Paquita Dance Center under the direction of Miss Amy Derstein. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Partnering, and Musical Theatre, with a special love for the elegance of Ballet. In her free time, Hailey enjoys anything that combines being active with the arts—including contra dancing, 50s-style swing dancing, ice skating, and ballet. While she enjoys performing, her greatest joy is encouraging students and watching them grow in both skill and confidence—with love for the art form of dance and for God, who created it to be enjoyed. She strives to create a learning environment marked by excellence, creativity, and faith, and looks forward to a joyful season of storytelling, growth, and glorifying the Lord through Holiday Inn.
