Show WEek Information

Everything you need to know about show week.

Show Week, also called Tech Week, refers to the week that we are in the theatre space. Show Week begins with Load-In Saturday, also called Super Saturday, includes a series of dress rehearsals, the main event of performances, and finishes with Strike. Be sure to mark Show Week on your calendar as soon as your child is cast in the show!

Super Saturday

All parent volunteers continue to serve with the Preshow Committee for Super Saturday. Preshow committee chairs will give instructions so that all volunteers understand how they can participate with load-in. Sets committee volunteers help to transport sets, for instance. More information on each committee’s role can be found on each Parent Committee Page.

Kick-off Sunday

On Sunday of Show Week, parent volunteers rotate to their Show Week Parent Committee. They serve the rest of the show with this committee. One parent is expected to be present during every day of Show Week whenever cast are called.

Mandatory Meeting

All cast and parent volunteers are required to attend the Kick-off Meeting held on Sunday afternoon of Show Week. Watch the Callboard for the details.

Sunday-Wednesday Rehearsals

Cast are called for rehearsals Sunday afternoon, Monday evening, Tuesday evening, and Wednesday evening of Show Week. Watch the Callboard for the specifics. These are mandatory rehearsals for all cast. Monday-Wednesday are dress rehearsals. All cast are expected to arrive with hair and makeup ready.

Performances

Performances are held on Thursday at 7, Friday at 7, Saturday at 2, and Saturday at 7. A special performance is held for Wichita Public School children on Thursday afternoon. Watch the Callboard for all updates and calltimes!

Strike

Following the final curtain call on Saturday evening cast are given 25 minutes to visit with friends and family and change out of costume. At that time, all cast and volunteers work together to speedily move out of the theatre. Every family should participate to their fullest ability; it’s imperative that we vacate the theatre, leaving it in excellent condition, by 1 a.m. or sooner.

After Parties

Midnight Strike Party

We traditionally gather after strike for a midnight party. Watch the callboard for location and other details for participating in this optional party.

Sunday Cast Party

Sunday afternoon all cast, crew, and families gather for a celebration. Awards are given and thank-yous are expressed. Details for this will be on the Callboard.

Greenroom

The Greenroom is the home base for cast during Show Week. The CPT Greenroom is overseen by Greenroom Committee parent volunteers. The Greenroom is closed to all non-cast members. This means that parents, teen assistants, and other crew volunteers are not allowed in the Greenroom unless specifically given permission.

Greenroom Guidelines

All cast members must supply a Greenroom tub with their personal items. This must be no wider than 12 inches. Tubs should be labeled with cast member’s first and last name.

Sibling Greenroom Tubs

To conserve space in the Greenroom, we ask that two siblings of the same gender share a greenroom tub. In families with three siblings of the same gender, the two youngest share a tub. In families with four siblines of the same gender, the two youngest and two oldest share a tub.

Electronics are not allowed in the Greenroom. Phones are checked in with Greenroom Parents and kept in a secure location.
