Rolaine Hetherington

Music Director

Rolaine Hetherington comes to us with 48 years of teaching experience. The last 34 years were spent at Friends University as adjunct professor and then Assistant Professor teaching voice, directing the Concert Choir (22 years), and collaborating on 15 of the musical theatre and opera productions as music director or stage director. During that time, she had the joy of having Amy Loucks in choir, several of the productions and in voice lessons. Since Amy and Rolaine’s daughter have been longtime friends, Rolaine has had the pleasure of staying in contact with Amy since her college days.

Rolaine received her BA in piano and music education from Hendrix College in Conway, AR, and her MM (voice) and MMEd from Louisianna State University in Baton Rouge, LA. She was also the recipient of a Rotary Club Graduate Fellowship for a year of study in Graz, Austria.

Rolaine and her husband John live on 40 acres outside of Towanda. She has two grown children and two adorable and active granddaughters (ages 3-1/2 and 1-1/2) who at any given time will breakout in a dramatic rendition of “Let It Go!” They will love this show!
